NHS is asking for patient’s views

PATIENTS’ views on Derbyshire Community Health Services’ plans to become an independent NHS Trust are being sought.

Health bosses are keen to hear from people about the landmark move – which will see decisions about the £154m organisation and its services made by the people responsible for providing them.

The change, which is due to take effect from 1 April 2011, also means the organisation’s services will no longer be managed and run by NHS Derbyshire County.

Tracy Allen, managing director for Derbyshire Community Health Services, said: “Being an NHS Trust in our own right will give us much greater freedom to design local services around local need.”
