A DEAD pigeon can still be seen in Ilkeston’s old Woolworth’s store despite an order placed by Erewash Borough Council demanding the shop be cleaned up.
The order threatened court action if the shop was not cleaned up within 14 days.
Last week Prestige Estate Agents, acting as a contact for the building’s owner, promised action would be taken before the order expired on Monday March 30.
When the Advertiser contacted them this week, a staff member said: “We are still working with the owner to resolve the issue.
“It is a matter of urgency but we have had problems gaining entry because of a broken shutter ad we have not been given the right equipment to sort out the problem yet.”
