TEACHERS at Ilkeston School have no more strikes planned while talks between the union NASUWT and governors take place.

Staff had staged industrial action last week over plans to convert the King George Avenue school into an academy.

In a letter to the Advertiser Dave Wilkinson, executive for NASUWT in Derbyshire, said: “I can assure you that Ilkeston School NASUWT members are completely committed to Ilkeston students, both current and prospective ones, and concern about their future in any academy motivates the teachers’ campaign to save Ilkeston School from academy conversion.”
