A devastated cat owner has started an appeal to warn people about an animal attacker after he found his beloved pet dead.

Paul Driver, who lives on Manor Road, told the Advertiser he believes his cat Lady was kicked in the face before being dumped dead at the side of the road.

He said: “I want other people to know that there is someone out there who did this to Lady.

“A friend of mine called me and said he’d found her at the side of Manor Road.

“I went straight there, he thought she’d been hit by a car but as soon as I saw her I knew that she hadn’t.”

Not long after Paul moved to the area last October Lady came home injured.

He took her to the vet who confirmed his concerns that she had been kicked in the face.

When she was found on Saturday May 26, he checked the road for signs she’d been ran over but found none.

He added: “If she had been hit by a car she would have had a lot more injuries, it was the same as before but much worse.”

Paul, who lives with his 13-year-old son, Adam, has two other cats, Dragon and Tammy.

He said: “I can’t rest when they’re out, I’m worried to death about them but I can’t keep them inside.”

Paul has asked that if anyone has any information they call him on 07504300676.
