Three giant green eggs have somehow found their way into the foyer of a junior school, leaving pupils puzzled as to how they got there...
Mysterious, reptilian footprints through the corridors of Cotmanhay Junior School led kids to the frightening discovery as they came to school this morning (Friday).
The baffling objects were taped off with a police warning, but what could have laid them – pupils speculated, could it be a T-Rex, a pterodactyl, or even a giant spider...?
Headteacher Simon Robinson explained in assembly how he was woken in the middle of the night by the police, who said the alarm had been triggered at the Beauvale Drive school.
“This is quite a situation,” he said, “I seriously hope they don’t hatch before 3pm.”
Thomas Mason, 7, was convinced the creature could turn invisible, which is why it was nowhere to be seen.
“I am going to the nature section in Ilkeston library tomorrow so I can find out what has laid them,” said seven-year-old Hannah Ryn.
Amid the excitement, Mr Robinson told the ‘Tiser that exciting events like this are helping to improve behaviour at a school which last year had the highest exclusion rate in Erewash.
“Not a single exclusion so far this year,” he said. “Behaviour has improved so much, I don’t even run detention anymore.”
