Paraglider injured after crash in Derbyshire
A police spokesman said officers, the air ambulance and a mountain rescue team had been dispatched to the incident after a call was received at 2.45pm today.
The paraglider fell to the ground at Rushup Edge, close to Mam Tor, in the Peak District.

Hide AdThe police spokesman said: “We received a call at 2.44pm to a report that a paraglider had fallen to the ground at Rushup Edge in the Peak District.
“The air ambulance, a mountain rescue team and police have all been sent to the scene.
“He has been assessed and it is believed he has suffered chest and spinal injuries.
“At this stage we not yet know if those injuries are either life threatening or life changing. No other details are yet available in terms of his identification and he has been taken to the Northern General Hospital in Sheffield.”

Hide AdRushup Edge is a ridge, the highest point of which is Lord’s Seat, at 550m, or 1,804ft.
In October 2014, mountain bikers, walkers, horse riders, climbers and conservationists held a protest against Derbyshire County Council maintenance work being carried out there.
