SPORTING their trademark red berets the Nottingham branch of the Parachute Regiment hosted a reunion at a pub in Awsworth.
Members from all over the Midlands came together at the Hoggs Head, accompanied by their wives and partners.
Ken Sellars from Nuthall, Mark Holding from Stapleford, Bill Cumming from Long Eaton and John Needham from Beeston organised the get together.
The World War Two verterans shared their memories and looked at old photographs.
Julie Taylor, of Nuthall, proudly displayed her late father’s medals and said the reunion was a ‘very poignant occasion’.
“These men fought for the freedom of our country,” she said. “Dad would have loved to have been here.”
