Photo competition heats up as entries flood in

The past week has seen an influx of entries for our Life Thru the Lens competition.

The photography competition, run in conjunction with Specsavers, asks budding photographers to get snap happy in Ilkeston and the surrounding areas.

Latest entries prove just how talented Ikeston folk are when it comes to getting behind the camera. Choosing a winner in the new year is certainly going to prove difficult for the judges.

Darren Marshall, 40, from Stanley Common, took the picture of the cat and fiddle windmill while he was on a walk back from Locko Park, going through Dale Abbey.

He said: “When I saw this view I thought wow and had to get a shot and I was lucky that the sails were facing my way.”
