Photos of ‘drowned’ Derbyshire village to go back to their roots

A series of unique postcards showing life in a Derbyshire village that was ‘drowned’ to make way for Ladybower Reservoir are going back to their roots.

The photos of Ashopton, which was flooded in 1943, sold at auction yesterday thanks to a community effort to get them back where they belong.
