Play on at schools to teach pupils a lesson

A THEATRE group will perform at two Ilkeston schools in a play designed to make teenagers think about how their actions affect others.

‘Pushed?’ is designed to prevent anti-social behaviour and tackles issues such as peer pressure and under-age drinking.

Cllr Carol Hart, the county council’s cabinet member for communities, said: “The play helps youngsters to understand the impact that certain types of behaviour can have on the people around them.

“It has inspired young people to help their local communities. Replanting a community garden and litter-picking are just some of the activities that pupils have become involved in after watching it.”

Pupils at the Ormiston Ilkeston Academy and Ormiston Enterprise Academy will see the production.
