CHILDREN enjoyed a variety of activities and workshops at Stapleford’s annual play day last week.
Families turned out in force for the popular event at Ilkeston Road recreation ground, last week, hosted by Broxtowe Borough Council.
There was a climbing wall, petting zoo, circus skills demonstrations, drumming workshops, BMX biking, arts and craft sessions and face-painting.
Pinxton Puppets Theatre Show and puppet making workshops were back by popular demand this year, and there were special activities put on for under-fives.
Broxtowe Borough Council’s cabinet member for arts, culture and leisure, Cllr Richard Robinson, said: “The Stapleford Play Day was well-attended and we’re pleased that families braved the wind to take advantage of the free play opportunities on offer last week.
“Local families turned out in force to enjoy a host of free activities, including physical challenges, under fives play area and facepainting stand.”
The authority hosted three play days across the borough this month in a bid to keep the kids entertained during the summer holidays.
