Police caught a man wanted in connection with two burglaries last night after a car chase through Ilkeston.
The Derbyshire Roads Policing Unit pursued the man after he reportedly failed to stop his vehicle when instructed to do so.
Residents reported a heavy police presence in the area of Prince Street and Ash Street at around 10.30pm, including helicopters circling overhead.
The man eventually abandoned the vehicle at a dead end, and was then apprehended by officers from the dog section.
As well as the two burlaries, he was also wanted on recall to prison.
In a short statement, the police said: “He will be sent back there along with charges for dangerous driving, no documents and vehicle theft.”
