NHS Erewash Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) has been awarded the ‘Two Ticks’ Positive About Disabled People’ accreditation for its commitment to employing disabled staff and developing their abilities.
The accreditation is awarded by the Department for Work and Pensions (Job Centre Plus) to employers who are positive about employing disabled people.
The ‘Two Ticks’ disability accreditation aims to ensure that people with disabilities feel confident that their employer, or potential employer, will be positive about their abilities.
Part of the accreditation involves offering a guaranteed interview to disabled candidates who meet the essential criteria for the role to which they are applying.
Rakesh Marwaha, chief officer of NHS Erewash CCG, said:“We are very proud to have been awarded this accreditation. This is a strong endorsement of our commitment to supporting people with disabilities.”
To qualify for the accreditation, NHS Erewash CCG signed up to the five commitments, including making every effort when employees become disabled to retain them in employment.
