A PARISH councillor has praised recent work on footpaths in the borough.
Stanley footpath number 27 was temporarily closed while Derbyshire County Council repaired the footbridge, which was apparently in a dangerous condition.
And an overflow near Baldock’s Mill on Dale Abbey footpath number 19 was concreted by the authority.
Cllr Terry Hall of Stanley Parish Council said: “I noticed the Derbyshire County Council notices had been removed.
“I thus walked the footpath from Stanley St Andrews school to Baldock’s Mill yesterday.
“A very good job has been made of the footbridge replacement behind Stanley St Andrews School, and with the dry weather even the Dale footpath section was better, though still damp in sections.”
