FRUIT, vegetables and flowers all impressed at this year’s Long Eaton and District Horticultural Show.
The annual event held at Coronation Hall in Toton was as popular as ever.
The society’s chair, Joan Roadley, said: “We were congratulated on the standard of produce a few times.
“People that came and were looking round were saying they know how difficult it has been with the seasons being all topsy turvy this year so everyone appreciated the hard work and effort that had gone into the show.
“Even though it was a bit slow to start in the mornings it picked up later on and there were lots of visitors.”
Wine, cookery and junior sections also drew crowds.
Judges handed out prizes to the best items on show.
Mrs Roadley added: “We got lots of good comments about it all so we’re very happy with that.
“It was a very successful show and we look forward to next year’s now.”
