PUPILS enjoyed demonstrations and making and tasting foods when chefs visited their school to teach them about healthy eating.
Scargill Primary School, in West Hallam, played host to cooks from Expo Chef, a company specialising in demonstrating healthy cooking techniques.
Children learned to make salads, healthy burgers and other cheap but healthy foods.
Headteacher Nora Ross said: “The children thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience.
“They all watched and listened brilliantly which was really good to see as healthy eating is a message we work hard to promote.
“It’s good for them to see that even on a budget and without much time food can still be healthy.”
After the demonstrations children tucked into some of the meals they had been shown how to make.
