Adding some fuel to this debate is the fact that since the demise of the Co-op, two free 30-minute parking bays have been set up on all the town’s car parks.
Strangely the Queen Street car park is all free spaces. What might this have done to help the Co-op survive?
I understand that the free period is going to be increased in the New Year to an hour?
An interesting feature of those free bays is that they all have a new patch of tarmac in them. The patches can’t be that they all needed exactly the same repair. So could they be some high tech equipment to detect duration of occupancy?
