DERBYSHIRE County Council has been rated as ‘good’ when it comes to safeguarding children.

In an Ofsted report published this month, it found the council is able to ensure improvements are made following inspections and audits. But it said improvements could be made with social work assessments.

Cllr Barry Lewis, cabinet member for young people, said: “We’ll be looking closely at inspectors’ recommendations to make sure everyone working with children in Derbyshire can develop their expertise and resources further to give young people an even brighter future.”
