Thousands of people flocked to the 762nd Ilkeston Charter Fair last week.
Our photographers were on hand to capture families having fun on the many rides that were set up on Bath Street and the Market Place.
The opening ceremony was held on Thursday when the event was launched by town mayor, Councillor Kewal Singh Athwal. The traditional Ilkeston Charter Fair takes place every October and is one of the oldest and largest street fairs in Europe.
Visitors enjoyed some exciting white-knuckle rides such as the Sky Swing and Star Flyer, together with the more traditional side-shows.
The fair’s history spans over 700 years, dating back to the original charter granted by King Henry III in 1252.
