CHILDREN had their faces painted at Brinsley Church spring fair which was a huge success this year thanks to the warm weather.
Church members said the fair last Saturday was one of the busiest ever and they raised £600.
“It was brilliant. It was very, very busy all day. One of the busiest we’ve ever been and £600 is one of the most we’ve raised,” said church member Stan Smith.
There were various stalls at the fair last Saturday selling books and bric-a-brac and there was a raffle and a tombola.
Stan also launched his 33rd local history book, and sold 60 copies.
Money raised at the fair will go towards the upkeep of the church.
