Strike called off this week

TWO days of strike action at Ilkeston School have been called off this week and a further three days may be called off next week, after union talks.

Forty NASUWT members at the school, who walked out last Tuesday over the planned redundancies of two teachers, were also due to strike yesterday and today (Thursday).

But national executive union member Dave Wilkinson said: “We have had progress by the school to resolve the issue.”

He said the school has changed its position on voluntary redundancy packages and there is a ‘greater likelihood’ strikes next Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday will be called off.
