Bottles of vodka suspected of being illegally smuggled into the UK were seized by trading standards officers during the latest checks on Derbyshire off licences.
Derbyshire County Council officers inspected nine premises in areas including Long Eaton and Sandiacre during the two day operation.
Suspect vodka was discovered on sale in a Long Eaton store and officers are continuing their investigations into the extent of the problem.
Cllr Kevin Parkinson said: “We’ve seen a rise in the amount of counterfeit and smuggled products on sale across the county.
“We’re committed to making sure consumers aren’t put at risk by goods which are illegally produced or brought into the country by criminal means.
“Cut priced sales of illegal goods also have significant implications on the livelihoods of honest traders.”
