A 32-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a suspected stabbing in Stapleford following an incident on the evening on Wednesday June 5.
Police were called to Central Avenue, close to Sainsbury’s, following reports of a serious assault.
A spokesman for Nottinghamshire Police said: “It happened at around 7.40pm after the 35-year-old victim was approached by two men in a car. “They engaged him in conversation before demanding cash. When he refused he was stabbed and his mobile phone stolen.
“His attackers fled in the car, leaving their victim with serious injuries.
“He was admitted to Nottingham’s Queen’s Medical Centre, but has since been discharged to continue his recuperation from home.
“Detectives have made house to house enquiries in the area. If you live nearby and have yet to speak to officers please call them.”
Police confirmed that a 32-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the attack and remains in police custody for questioning.
The area was cordoned off by police for forensic examination, Witnesses should call 101.
