Health chiefs from NHS Erewash Clinical Commissioning Group have signed up to the NHS statement on tobacco control to highlight their commitment to tackle the harm smoking causes communities in Derbyshire.
By signing the statement health leaders have committed to actively supporting work at a local level to reduce smoking prevalence and health inequalities and to raise the profile of the harmful effects of smoking. The statement has been endorsed by the Public Health Minister, NHS England, Public Health England, the Care Quality Commission and the British Medical Association.
NHS Erewash CCG is a member of the newly-formed Derbyshire Tobacco Alliance. It is estimated that over 113,000 adults still smoke in Derbyshire.
