The following cases have been heard at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court.

Dawn Meakin, aged 50, of King Street, Ilkeston, was fined £440 for keeping an unlicensed vehicle on a public road. The charge was proved in her absence. She was also ordered to pay vehicle excise back duty of £102.5, £90 in costs and a criminal courts charge of £150.

Emma Renshaw, aged 31, of Springfield Gardens, Ilkeston was fined £145 for keeping an unlicensed vehicle on a public road. She was Ordered to pay vehicle excise back duty of £36.25, costs of £90, a £150 criminal courts charge .

Darren Saxton, aged 44, of Eaton Avenue, was fined £145 for keeping an unlicensed vehicle on a public road. He was ordered to pay vehicle excise back duty of £30, costs of £90, a £150 criminal courts charge .

Jonathan Collinge, aged 30, of Wood Street, Ilkeston, was fined £660 for driving without due care and attention. He pleaded not guilty but the charge was proved in his absence. He will also pay a £66 victim surcharge, £300 to the Crown Prosecution Service. Nine points were added to his licence.

Craig Bishop, aged 27, of Godfrey Drive, Kirk Hallam, pleaded guilty to assault by beating. He was handed a community order and must carry out 60 hours unpaid work. He must also take part in a building better relationships programme. He will pay a criminal courts charge of £150, £85 to the CPS and a £60 victim surcharge.

Mitchell Hoult, aged 22, of Stanley Street, Long Eaton pleaded not guilty to two charges, one of damaging a wooden door and one of assault but was found guilty. He also admitted breaching a suspended sentence order. He was jailed for a total of 26 weeks and will also pay a criminal courts charge of £520 and a £80 victim surcharge.

Nathan Walsh, aged 20, of Wilmot Street, Long Eaton, pleaded guilty to assault. He was handed a community order with a three month curfew. He will carry out 200 hours unpaid work.

Drugs charge

Kevin Priest, aged 33, of Tamworth Road, Long Eaton, pleaded guilty to three charges including possession of cannabis. He was jailed for four weeks and was already on bail at the time of the offence. 
He will pay a £180 criminal court charge and a £80 surcharge.

No tv licence

Carol Bishop, aged 62, of Granby Street, pleaded not guilty. Fined £60, £20 victim surcharge and costs of £160.

James Flecther, aged 24, of Skeavingtons Lane. Pleaded guilty, fined £40, £20 surcharge, £150 criminal courts charge and costs of £120.

Maria Hallam, aged 27, Hornbeam Close, Ilkeston. Proved in absence. Fined £330, costs of £120, criminal courts charge of £150 and £33 victim surcharge.

Emma Langton, aged 25, of Alvenor Close. Proved in absence, fined £220, £22 surcharge, £120 costs and £150 criminal courts charge.

Donna Tomlinson, aged 32, Market Street, Ilkeston. Proved in absence. Fined £220, £22 surcharge, £120 costs and £150 criminal courts charge.


Louise Brooks, aged 31, of Norbury Way, Sandiacre. Proved in absence. Fined £330, £33 surcharge, £120 costs and £150 criminal courts charge.


Edward Smith, aged 55, of Derby Road, Long Eaton, pleaded guilty. Fined £60, £20 surcharge, costs of £120 and a criminal courts charge of £150.


Leanne Broadbent, aged 30, of Bracken Road, Long Eaton fined £330, criminal courts charge of £150, £120 costs and £33 victim surcharge. Proved in absence.

Dawn Draycott, aged 49, of Petersham road, Long Eaton. Pleaded guilty. Fined £60, £20 victim surcharge, criminal courts charge of £150, £120 costs.

Clare Fletcher, aged 39, of Lynden Avenue, pleaded guilty. Fined £60, £20 victim surcharge, costs of £120, £150 criminal courts charge.
