Funfair rides, dog shows and displays, face painting, bouncy castles and a whole host of activities and attractions were on offer for the festival’s eighth year.

A Madness tribute band, named Ultimate Madness, sent the crowd wild to finish off a fun filled day and complete a brilliant line-up of live music.

Organiser Kurt Whitten told the ‘Tiser: “It was an absolutely fantastic day.

“We thought we’d take a bit of hit visitor number wise because of the alcohol restrictions (no alcohol was allowed to be taken onto the site by visitors) but it didn’t have much of an impact really.

“Everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves as usual.

“We were a bit worried when it rained all night on Friday but by 11am it was sunny and at lunch time it was scorching, we had the perfect day for it.

“The fun fair rides were going all day and the Madness tribute and music acts really rocked it.”

This year’s event was officially opened by the Mayor of Broxtowe at 12 noon.

The grand finale was a fireworks display at 11pm and other attractions included the live acts Funkified and Skeleton Crew. There was also a canine dancing team from Crufts.
