GARDENERS across the borough are being urged to grab their spades for the launch of the annual Erewash in Bloom competition next week.
The annual gardening extravaganza sees residents, schools and businesses put some flower power into the borough and is the council’s Pride in Erewash campaign’s flagship event
The 2011 competition will be officially launched at bloom stalls in High Street, Long Eaton, on Wednesday and outside McDonalds in Bath Street, Ilkeston, the following day.
Information about the various categories green-fingered competitors can enter will be available at the stalls which run from 10am to 2pm.
Last year’s competition had its highest ever number of competitors.
Results for this year’s contest will be announced at a presentation ceremony this autumn.
