Hundreds of campaigners joined Derbyshire Wildlife Trust in a bid to highlight the struggle of the hen harrier.
The trust welcomed broadcaster and conservationist Chris Packham to talk about the endangered bird.
The event was part of a nationwide bid to raise awareness, with celebrities and campaigners coming together at seven different locations throughout the UK.
The peaceful rallies allowed people to show their concern and discuss what can be done to save the bird.
Derbyshire Wildlife Trust’s chief executive, Jo Smith, said: “Hen harriers are protected by law but despite this they are still being persecuted. The fantastic turn out shows how much people cherish the birds. We are keen to see our uplands managed to ensure hen harriers return.”
This year marked the second event organised by Mark Avery, Charlie Moores, Derbyshire Wildlife Trust, RSPB and Chris Packham and plans are already being made for next year.
