Two local veteran blood donors were among those honoured for rolling up their sleeves to help save lives at a recent award ceremony.
Robert Stewart from Sandiacre and Malcolm Toplis from Long Eaton were thanked for being long-term donors.
Holly Mason, Lead Donor Relations Manager at NHS Blood and Transplant, said: “It is amazing to see the dedication of these long-standing donors. They are an inspiration to us all and we hope that others will follow in their footsteps to save and improve the lives of many people.
“As well as our regular donors new donors are always welcome.
“The more people who register and donate, the easier it is for us to tailor our sessions, so we collect just what’s needed.
“Now is as good a time as any to get your first appointment in your diaries.”
