Pupils at Ladywood Primary School in Ilkeston took part in a sponsored skipping event on Friday May 15.
Parents were invited to watch as Year Six pupils at the school on Oliver Road took part in skipping activities.
The sponsored skip was organised by the school to raise money for British Heart Foundation.
The event co-ordinator was Miss Amy Nind.
She said: “The children took part in the Jump Rope for Heart initiative as we believe it is important for children to feel they are contributing to something outside of the school community.
“It will raise valuable money for the BHF but also, the children are able to keep 20 per cent of the money raised as an incentive. These reasons combined have really spurred our year 6 children on with every single pupil striving to do their best.
“It was an excellent challenge for the children and there has been a real skipping phenomena throughout school since we started training for the event. Children throughout school have been out and bought their own ropes and the playground has been a more enjoyable place for everyone.
“I could not be more proud of them and I am looking forward to seeing how much they have raised.”
