A group of volunteers have helped clean up the Oakwell Brickworks site, just off of Derby Road in Ilkeston.
Labour councillor Michelle Booth got together a group of helpers to restore the site to its former glory, after litter built up over years of neglect in the area.
Councillor Booth said: “The land is greatly used and appreciated by the local community, but is not given regular cleaning attention due to its private ownership.”
This was the second time this year the group has taken part in the community litter pick. The last one was in May.
At the latest litter pick, the volunteers managed to fill a skip with around 20 large rubbish bags.
