A sponsored walk, which took in the sights of Ilkeston, Cossall and Stapleford, has raised almost £4,000 for Nottinghamshire the Leukaemia Appeal. The Bramcote and district branch of Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research, a charity support group which has raised more than £250,000 since its launch in the 1970s, held its annual nine-mile sponsored walk at the start of May. Co-ordinator Diane Jones said: “It is encouraging to see more young people helping our cause.”
