Labour councillors are asking residents what their issues are with the town.

They say they will pass the results of the survey on to Erewash Borough Council in a report on the state of the borough’s towns.

The My Town My Say campaign was trialled in Long Eaton last week.

Labour group leader Cllr Alex Phillips said: “We were delighted at the response from Long Eaton and I’m really looking forward to hearing the voice of Ilkeston.

“Long Eaton spoke out loud and clear. It’s about time that Tory Erewash Borough Council took responsibility for the neglect of the town.

“From addressing the scandal of empty shops to sensible parking, tackling traffic congestion, and just smartening the whole place up – the ideas came tumbling out and I’m looking forward to some straight talking from Ilkeston.”

You can have your say from 10am to 12noon outside Ilkeston Town Hall.
