The following cases have been dealt with at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court:

Shane Bilton, aged 22, of Burr Lane, Ilkeston, pleaded guilty to three charges, including two of assaulting police officers and one of damaging a police car on January 13. He will appear at the court again on February 13. He faces five charges in total.

Jamie Lee Lewis, aged 21, from Monsall Avenue, Ilkeston, will stand trial at Nottingham Crown Court on February 12 on four charges, including sex with an underage girl.

Reece Burgess, 23, of Allen Square, Ilkeston, pleaded guilty to fraud for dishonestly filling out a ‘no means to pay’ form for petrol on two occasions. He was bailed until February 5.

Vanessa Lawrence, aged 33, from Mill Street, Ilkeston pleaded not guilty to two charges of failing to notify Erewash Borough Council and the Department of Work and Pensions in a change of circumstance that would affect her entitlement to claim benefits. She will be appear at the court again on February 13.

Victoria Martindale, aged 40, of Brickyard, Stanley Common, pleaded not guilty to two charges of harassment. Her case will be heard on April 24.

William Spowage, 25, of Nottingham Road, Ilkeston, was banned from driving for 22 months for drink driving. He was stopped by police on January 10 on Ashdale Road. He had 91 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35. He was fined £110, and must pay costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £20.

Kayleigh Fisher, 28, of Milton Road, Ilkeston, was sentenced to 180 hours of unpaid work for claiming JobSeekers’ Allowance while working. She pleaded guilty to the offence and must pay costs totalling £160.

Samantha Spurr, 42, of Queen Elizabeth Way, Ilkeston, was ordered to pay back £7088.64 in unpaid council tax, or serve 90 days further suspended. The amount of council tax unpaid was £6488,64. She must pay back £100 a month.
