Woman and child rescued from Chesterfield house fire

A woman and a child were rescued from a house fire in Chesterfield this morning (April 26).

Crews from Clay Cross and Chesterfield were called to Williamthorpe Road, North Wingfield, at about 8.30am.

A fire service spokesman said the blaze was in the kitchen of a two-storey semi-detched house.

He said the woman was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation, but that nobody was seriously injured.

Firefighters left the scene at 9am.
