Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a woman was left with 'life changing injuries' following an assault near a nightclub.
The 29-year-old woman was taken to Queen's Medical Centre with a broken jaw after the incident on Clifford Street, Long Eaton, near Manhattan's nightclub, on Sunday, July 1 between 2am and 2.30am.
It is thought she was assaulted when she tried to intervene when a fight broke out between two groups of people inside the nightclub and then carried on in the street, Derbyshire police said.
Detective Constable Ryan Hockley of Derbyshire police, said: “This was a serious assault that required the victim to spend several days in hospital and has left her with life changing injuries.
“I am very keen to speak with anyone who was in Manhattan’s Nightclub or Clifford Street in the early hours of July 1.
“If you witnessed this assault or have any information which may assist with our investigation, please do get in touch.”
