Work to renovate a railway footbridge in Long Eaton will start on Friday.
The project of improvements will see the Station Street footbridge temporarily removed so that it can be cleaned, strengthened and painted.
The work will take place between April 21 and Thursday June 29, during which pedestrians will have to cross via the level crossing or take an alternative route.
A Network Rail spokesperson said anyone using the level crossing should follow and adhere to the instructions at the crossing.
Road closures will be in place for the removal of the bridge between 10pm on Saturday April 29 until 6am on Sunday April 30; and then again from 10pm on Wednesday June 21 until 6am on Thursday June 22 when it is reinstated.
Network Rail workers will leave the site by July 12.
