World renowned former Olympic and World Champion sprinter Michael Johnson has wished Derby County good luck ahead of their crucial Sky Bet Championship Play-Off Final this weekend.

The Rams are set to take on Queens Park Rangers tomorrow afternoon in a game that has been billed the worlds most lucrative match in sporting history as the two sides battle it out for a place in the Barclays Premier League.

The 400m World record holder, who has set up his own sports performance training company in partnership with Perform at St. George’s Park, met the Derby County players ahead of the Play-Offs to deliver a motivational speech.

Johnson commented: “I was delighted to meet Steve McClaren and his team at the training ground recently and I wish them all the best for the Final on Saturday.

“I have been keeping a close eye on the results and it was a superb performance against Brighton – it would be great for the club and the fans if they can reach the Premier League.”
