Sunday saw Nutbrook CC 3rds at home in the Harry Lund Cup against Kirk Langley from Division Eight.
Kirk Langley batted first. The Brook’s young bowlers found it hard going, the first wicket falling at 113 in the 23rd over when spinner Eddie Edwards joined the attack, getting Andrews LBW for 70.
It soon became 129-2 when Huggett became Edwards’s second victim.
No more wickets fell as Fletcher (121 not out) and Kerry (85 not out) took the final score to 291-2, Eddie Edwards getting the two wicktes to fall with 2-23 from five overs.
The Brook’s top order was soon sent packing by the strong Allestree attack. Only 13-year-old Joe Newnham, getting an excellent 13, showed any real resistance.
Skipper Gary Woods came in to hit a brisk 23, helped by Daniel Kerry, who fired a hard-hit 33 before the innings closed on 122 all out.
