Steve Chettle reflected on a hard-earned three points for Ilkeston Town in their opening MFL Premier Division fixture on Saturday - and predicted another rollercoaster of a season ahead.
The Robins had Malachi Lavell-Moore's 87th minute winner to thank for the three points against a dynamic Stourport Swifts side who gave them problems throughout.
And Chettle was pleased to get the points.
He said: "It's three points at home and three goals too, so there are positives to take from it and it's always great to win the first game.
"I'm not sure I can take too many more games like that given the emotions but that's how it often is here and could be a rollercoaster again this season!
"It was a headache picking the starters as everyone has performed well in pre-season, but we'll need the full squad this season so people will have to be patient.
"In the end the side we picked won the game and we're delighted."
Chettle was also pleased to see set plays prove fruitful again, defender Shaun Rickford netting his first Robins goal from a corner just after the hour mark.
Chettle said: "We scored a lot from set plays last season and need to do so again. The players we have will be threats in situations like that, particularly Shaun Rickford who is called 'Bullet' pretty much for that reason.
"We need to be better at defending them but at any level, they can turn a game so it's important to get them right."
Ilkeston now head to Shepshed Dynamo on Tuesday night before hosting Lye Town on Saturday (11th)
