Entrance to Ilkeston Town’s home match with RC Warwick on Saturday will be £1 for all spectators as the Robins aim to attract new fans to the club.
Gates have been steadily around the 4-500 mark all season but it is hoped double that figure will attend Saturday’s game, none of Derby, Nottingham Forest or Notts County having home games.
Notts County season ticket holders will be admitted free of charge for the game between two sides gunning for the top places in the Midland Football League Division One.
The afternoon will also see the the introduction of Ilkeston Town Juniors and there will be some small-sided games against youngsters from Racing Club Warwick on the pitch from 1.30pm onwards. There will also be a parade and introduction to the fans.
The club shop will have new merchandise on offer including hats and scarves, and there will also be a sweet stall for children and anyone else with a sweet tooth.
Robins chief operating officer Anthony Redwood said: “I’d like to think this game is something that will appeal to all, so please do bring the family along if you can.
“We are really progressing well this season and have come a long way in a short space of time. Your support would mean a great deal to us, and hopefully you’ll enjoy watching some of the exciting football being played at the minute.”
The match kicks off at 3pm.
