Ilkeston Town are to host another day of trials for those wishing to join up with the club's new scholarship academy.

The academy, which has been created in partnership with Nottingham College, will give budding young footballers aged between 16 and 18 a chance to follow in the footsteps of Che Adams, Ash Hunter, Callum Chettle and Akil Wright, all of whom graduated from the former programme at The New Manor Ground and progressed through to professional football.

The programme will commence from September 2018 and will offer an exciting combination of high quality football and education for school leavers, recognised level two and three sport qualifications for aspiring footballers interested in pursuing a career in the sports industry and league fixtures and games against professional academies.

Highly qualified UEFA coaches will tutor the players and there will be excellent links to a professional sport environment.

The next trial will take place on Monday, June 11 at the New Manor Ground from 6-8pm. Players should arrive 15 minutes early and will be greeted by both club and college staff who will also offer further information relating to both the academic and football elements of the course.
