The clubhouse at Ilkeston Town’s New Manor Ground is set for a £30,000 revamp - and the club’s fans are paying for half of it.
The Ilkeston Football Supporters Group voted unanimously to donate £15,000 of its funs towards the project, with the club’s owner Alan Hardy agreeing to match the figure.
Chief operating officer Anthony Redwood said: “This gesture marks a pivotal moment in our journey; with our chairman committing the same, we plan to undertake a £30,000 transformation that will offer a premium environment for our supporters and the wider community.
“Increased activity and opening hours, coupled with activities and entertainment for all, will hopefully give the New Manor Ground the highest possible standing in Ilkeston and beyond.
“Works are planned for May/June 2018 and we plan to commemorate the new-look facility as and when it is available.”
