Ilkeston Town eased to their ninth win in a row with a 3-0 success at Bolehall Swifts on Tuesday night.
The match was played in tough conditions given the poor state of Bolehall’s pitch but the Robins overcame the challenge to take another three points and keep a clean sheet once again.
Montel Gibson had an early effort ruled out for offside and Billy Bennett’s strike was tipped onto the bar, Alex Marshall and Gibson both going close soon afterwards.
The opening goal came on 34 minutes and there was a touch of fortune about it as Bennett’s free-kick from deep looped over everyone and found the net.
Robins keeper Ian Deakin pulled off his only save of the night just before the break to deny Clarke, the stopper otherwise having a quiet evening.
The second goal arrived two minutes after the break as a long ball found Alex Marshall and he headed over the keeper for his 16th goal of the season.
Jamie Walker saw an effort cleared off the line and Tom Marshall also went close but the third goal c ame on 77 minutes when sub Tim Hopkinson converted after Calum Smith had gone round the keeper.
