Malachi Lavelle-Moore has returned to Ilkeston to strengthen Steve Chettle’s squad for the remainder of the season.

Chettle said the striker had impressed in training sessions and would provide added firepower.

During a short spell with the Robins in the 2016/17 season he scored five times, including a stunning injury-time winner at Coalville Town —a team he would join later that season — which was featured on Sky’s Soccer AM.

Chettle said: “I’ve been aware of Malachi from his involvement in the professional game and also his involvement in non-league.

“The Ilkeston fans are aware of him from his time at the New Manor Ground and the nation is aware of his goal that made the internet and Soccer AM.“

“We welcome him back, this time to Ilkeston Town, and hope he can make a really positive contribution to the team and club.”

Lavelle-Moore said: “I’ve been out of action since September.

“I’ve been really driven to get fit and back on the pitch.

“I’ve had a few clubs speaking to me, but after speaking to Steve Chettle it was clear that Ilkeston was the best choice.

“I’ve known Chetts since I was at Forest aged seven, I trust him to help me develop my game .”
