The young footballers of Ilkeston Town U11s are on the right road, thanks to a sponsorship deal worth £450 with bus company, Trent Barton.

The Red Tigers’ new strip carries the branding of Trent Barton’s Ilkeston Flyer service, and the players will wear it for many of their fixtures this season and next.

Assistant manager Craig Sharpe said: “This sponsorship is a lifeline for us. We are self-funded and have to do lots of fundraising to buy the equipment we need for training and playing.

“For a company such as Trent Barton to come along and pay for the kits in a two-year deal is a massive weight off our minds. To play in a good-quality kit makes the players proud.”

Jordan Kemp, of Trent Barton’s marketing team, said: “It’s great to back these young players from such a community-focused club. We wish them every success over the two seasons and hope to see them flying.”
