TWO sets of siblings who are pupils at Friesland School in Sandiacre have tasted the winning feeling at the Erewash School Sports Cross Country Champships at West Park in Long Eaton.
Kieran and Shannon Colley came first in the colt boys and junior girls races respectively, whilst Ruby and Grace Foster were winners of the colt girls and intermediate girls events.
All four athletes qualified to represent Erewash at the County Cross Country Championships at Moorways Stadium, Derby.
In total 46 Friesland athletes entered the Erewash event and 26 of them athletes were selected to represent Erewash at at the Moorways event, while 14 made the final teams and ran at this event.
Meanwhile there were many more victories for Friesland athletes at the Erewash District Cross Country championship held recently at West Park, Long Eaton.
Athletes representing the school had an exceptionally successful afternoon winning four of the six events - colt girls, junior girls, intermediate girls and also the intermediate boys competitions.
Mrs Wilson, PE teacher at Friesland said: “We were the only school to have a full complement of team entries in the event this year and this was a fantastic reward for the effort shown by all of our athletes who took part.”
