Denby’s early season struggles in the Derbyshire County Leagues continued with a 76-run defeat to Sandiacre Town.
It left Denby bottom of the table without a win from their opening six matches in the Premier Division.
The size of defeat was reduced by a fine last-wicket stand in their run-chase, but the home side had no answer to the bowling of Sandiacre captain Daniel Wheeldon, who took seven for 36.
Sandiacre totalled 186 for nine from their 50 overs before the home side were dismissed for 110 in 35.3 overs.
Denby were reduced to 57 for nine, despite a battling 26, including four boundaries, from number five Kudzai Oliver Maunze.
They added 53 runs for the final wicket, but it was not enough.
