Get Into Golf in Ilkeston this weekend

ADULTS and youngsters of all ages who may be interested in taking up golf are encouraged to go along to a ‘Get Into Golf’ open day being held in Ilkeston this weekend.

In attempt to entice more people into taking part in the sport, Ilkeston Golf Club will be staging many activities over the next few months, starting with the open day at Pewit Golf Course in Ilkeston on Saturday (22nd) from 2pm until 4pm.

Also available in future weeks will be free taster sessions, free golf tuition, pupil/parent promotions, junior section membership and family taster days.

Free refreshments, taster sessions and golf tuition will be available.

The club is aspiring to expand its junior membership by reducing its fees in order to make golf more affordable for youngsters and families of all ages, male and female.

Joe Fitzpatrick of Ilkeston Golf Club said: “With club members mentoring new members and with the support of Erewash Leisure, Derbyshire Golf Partnership and development officers, the club looks forward to a thriving sporting social future for the youngsters of Ilkeston.

“It is hoped that youngsters will find Ilkeston Golf Club a friendly venue to attend and enjoy a place to meet, play and socialise with like-minded new and present friends.”
