Good talent on show as Outlaws host mini camp

ILKESTON Outlaws have held a mini camp for young basketball players at the Cavendish Sports Centre.

Thirty players attended including regular team members as well as newcomers, the camp being run by coaches Matt Gotheridge, Ben Morley and Danny Conlon along with U18 player James Wood and Connagh Doohan from the U14s.

Prizes were awarded for various competitions and achievements, with the aim for players to improve skills and potential in an enjoyable environment.

Competition winners: Dribble King Champion - Simon Lucas; Killer Champion - Drew Hatton; Quickfire Champion - Caitlyn Riley

Camp award winners: Most Valuable Player - Simon Lucas; Most Improved Player - Samuel Cuttings; Best Defender - Russ Surgay.

The Black team of Georgia Stevenson, Libby Mellor, Ethan Shipstone, Kean Riley and Guiliano Onatori were Inter-camp tournament winners.

Ilkeston Outlaws’ mini-squad return to training on Saturday, September 15 between 11am-12.30pm at the Cavendish Sports Centre. All newcomers aged eight to 12 (school years three to seven from September) are welcome.
